FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to oil and gas industry, in particular to manufacturing of reagent for decontamination of wastes generated during accidental spills of oil products in solid, liquid and paste form. The oil waste decontaminating reagent contains oil and paraffin wastes as a water-repellent agent with the following ratio of components (in wt %): oil and paraffin wastes 5-20; unkilled lime - the remaining part. Hydrophobic properties of the claimed reagent during its usage provide the commencement of active stage of hydration reaction only after completion of the stage of the reagent homogenisation (mixing) with contaminated materials.
EFFECT: invention provides improvement in properties of calcium oxide-based reagent in order to decontaminate oil-contaminated materials, increase in guaranteed shelf life, improving its stability against caking, at that reagent deactivation does not exceed 6-8% per year.
