SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mobile communication systems such as transponders and distributed antenna systems operating in an environment with variable conditions and variable locations. The communication system 10 includes a receiving antenna for receiving communication signals, a processing circuit for processing received communication signals and relaying the signals for further transmission and at least one transmitting antenna for transmitting relayed signals. The processing system employs configurable settings for adjusting operation of the communication system 10, and the configurable settings are controllable for varying the operating mode of the system. The processing circuit is further configured to receive input signals relating to the current operating conditions of the communication system 10 and selectively adjust the configurable settings of the system based on the operating condition input signals.

EFFECT: system enables to selectively adjust the operating configuration of a communication system for automatic setting to variable details within the environment thereof.
