FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns hand-held tools. A hand-held tool with a switchable mechanism with at least two operating positions, selected with the control element (11) between two switching positions. The control element (11) is connected by means of a coupling element with movable switching element (13), acting at least on one detail of the switchable mechanism (6), which at moving of the control element (11) between the switching positions is switched between the first and second operating positions. The coupling element is made as a coupling spring (12) with two stable states, which in both positions of the control element (11) switchover is in a stable state, and in an interim position between switchover positions it is in an unstable state. The coupling spring (12) is made as a spring washer with at least one tab (16), protruding radially inside and contacting the switching element (13).

EFFECT: simplification of the hand held tool design of the hand-held tool.
