FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing urea-formaldehyde oligomer includes loading formalin, loading the first portion of urea, heating and settling of the reaction mixture, loading the second portion of urea, settling of the reaction mixture and vacuum-drying. Formalin before loading the first portion of urea is mixed with a solution of paraformaldehyde with further neutralisation of the mixture with granulated caustic soda, and the third portion of urea to a molar ratio of urea to formaldehyde 1:1.4 is introduced into the reaction mixture after vacuum-drying.
EFFECT: reduction of free formaldehyde content in urea-formaldehyde oligomers and reduction of toxicity of wood chipboards, obtained on their basis.
