FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to farm industry, in particular, to beef cattle breeding, namely, to Kalmyk breed bull-calves feeding under conditions of traditional yard housing at farms. The Kalmyk breed bull-calves feeding method envisages usage of a grain mixture including crushed grains of winter-annual triticale. The grain mixture containing oats, maize, peas, barley, Sudan grass and crushed grains of winter-annual triticale is fed to 9-18-month old bull-calves in the fattening period. The quantity of grains of winter-annual triticale accounts for 36-38% of the total weight of the grain mixture. The result is explained by increased content of crude protein in grains of winter-annual triticale which leads to enhanced energy and nutritive value.
EFFECT: invention implementation ensures increase of protein and energy nutrition of rations and, consequently, bull-calves performance increase, namely, increase of live weight of daily average growth of bull-calves, reduction of fodders consumption per product unit and prime cost decrease without meat taste quality deterioration.
