FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for crystallisation separation and purification of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate includes continuous crystallisation of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate from concentrated uranyl nitrate solution, separating the uranyl nitrate hexahydrate crystals and the mother solution, washing the crystals, collecting and unloading the washed crystals. Completion of the crystallisation process and transfer of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate crystals into the washing area is carried out in isothermal conditions. The washed crystals are fed into a collection vessel filled with a washing solution, which is displaced by crystals into the washing area. After filling the collection vessel with the crystals, the crystals undergo surface melting on the inner surfaces of the collection vessel and stop valves. The washed crystals are unloaded. The apparatus for crystallisation separation and purification of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate comprises a vertical crystalliser and a column for counter-current washing of uranyl nitrate hexahydrate crystals, wherein the crystalliser and the washing column are in the form of a single pipe, the lower part of which is connected to a multi-position full-bore valve which successively connects the pipe to collection vessels of washed crystals.

EFFECT: high direct operational output of the product, high efficiency of the process and achieving the required purification characteristics.
