FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: induction overlaying method involves heating of the material being overlaid in the form of a charge and the surface being overlaid with the help of an inductor up to their joint melting. A hollow cylinder is preformed from the charge by glueing or sintering. The length of the hollow cylinder generatrix is equal to the length of the generatrix of the cylindrical surface being overlaid, and the external diameter is equal to the diameter of the internal cylindrical surface. Then the inductor and the cylinder formed from the charge are set inside the item. The item is rotated in the vertical plane around the longitudinal symmetry axis of the internal cylindrical surface. The inductor is switched on and the charge and the overlaid surface are molten together. The inductor is switched off and the rotation is continued up to the melt hardening. In the course of overlaying the item is rotated with the speed chosen so that to prevent the runoff of the melt, and the value of the internal diameter formed from the overlaid material of the cylinder is specified on the basis of the required thickness of the overlaid layer.
EFFECT: optimised overlaying process for internal cylindrical surfaces.
