FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of production of decorative relief image comprises compressing of the workpiece to form the relief pattern, mechanical removal of the layer of wood, followed by treatment of the wood surface, and removal of the layer of wood is carried out to the formed protrusions of the relief pattern, then the wood surface is moistened with water, and then the wood surface is dried.
EFFECT: production of relief image on a flat surface of an article made of wood with use of minimum number of process operations using more economical method.
