SUBSTANCE: invention relates to imaging, particularly to controlling capture of still images according to audio information. The method includes receiving a plurality of images; receiving an audio signal associated with the plurality of images; analysing the received audio signal in order to determine an audio event associated with a desired output image; and selecting at least one of the plurality of images based on the analysis of the received audio signal. An analysis unit performs estimation of the fundamental frequency of the received audio signal in order to determine an image in which an object generating the audio signal is located closest to the image capturing device.
EFFECT: assisting a user in selecting an image which is most probably the image of the desired object.
