FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used in heavy duty belt and drum brakes of draw-works winches. The method is consists in that depending on geometrical parameters of disks and angle of wrapping by the brake band of the working surface of the sheave in the given frictional assemblies the relations of static coefficients of mutual overlap are determined. The coefficients of mutual overlap are characterized by the areas of overlapping of strips entering and slack branches of the band of the working surface of the brake disk, which are equal to ratio of unit loads occurring on disks of branches, on the value of which one can judge, how much more disks should be on the entering branch compared with the slack one.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling the re-distribution of unit loads on branches of the brake band is achieved in view of allowable temperature of materials of disks in frictional assemblies of the brake for increase of their resource.
