FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of machine building and may be used in belt-block brakes of draw works. Method consists in the fact that depending on surface diametre in specified friction units, ratio is defined between coefficients of mutual overlapping of working surfaces of pads in tight and slack strands of belt of working surface of brake wheel. Values of ratio of specific loads developed on strand pads are used to decide how many more pads should be their in tight strand of belt compared to slack strand. With permanent pitch of friction pads installation along perimetre of brake belt to achieve the ratio of their working surfaces areas in strands, balancing of specific loads is provided by making cross grooves of alternate section. Grooves are arranged in the form of flat cone-like nozzles, areas of which in the end of working surfaces of brake belt tight strand pads vary according to law of arithmetical progression and are set at that by area of the first pad, and in pads of slack strand of brake belt - by laws of geometrical progression, in which for definition of working area of the first pad of belt slack strand, working area of the last pad in its tight strand is used.
EFFECT: improved performance parametres of brake friction units and considerable increase of resource of pads located on belt tight strand.
