FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic fine materials, specifically to hollow glass-lined pearlite-based microspheres, and can be used in producing microspheres from other acidic hydroalumosilicates. In the method for complex processing of pearlite, which includes grinding starting material, preparing a slurry, moulding and drying granules by feeding the slurry into a tower-shaped spray dryer, expanding the microspheres and separating wastes, a complex glass-forming additive is further added to the suspension during preparation of the slurry, said additive containing sodium hydroxide, colemanite, zinc oxide and an inorganic fluoride, with the following ratio of components, wt %: sodium hydroxide - 0.5-2.0, colemanite 0.1-3.0, zinc oxide - 0.05-2.0, inorganic fluoride - 0.2-6.0, pearlite - the balance, and off-grade fractions of the expanded pearlite are subjected to wet grinding to particle size smaller than 2 mcm and expanded to obtain a homogeneous universal sintering additive.
EFFECT: obtaining hardened, hydrophobic light-weight microspheres.
