FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nanodispersed microspheres used as sorbents for extraction of oil products from aqueous mediums, and also as heat-insulating fillers at manufacturing of various construction materials. Method of producing pearlite sand microspheres comprises drying pearlite sand to moisture content of 9 %, grinding pearlite in a disintegrator of a through type to fraction of 5–20 mcm, combining the ground of ground perlite in 2–3 % NaOH solution in a mixture with lithium carbonate, strontium carbonate, compounds containing magnesium and boron oxides with addition of bentonite group aluminosilicate in amount of up to 2 wt% in hydrocavitation-type activator for 15–40 minutes, preferably 30 minutes, to obtain a slip, molding and drying granules by feeding slurry through nozzles with calibrated holes into turret spray drying to obtain granules with moisture content of less than 0.9–10 wt% and size of less than 250 mcm, thermal treatment in furnace of "boiling" layer at temperature of granules heaving within 850–1,050 °C.
EFFECT: obtaining reinforced and hydrophobisated microspheres with bulk density of not more than 125 kg/m3 and particle size of less than 250 mcm.
