FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: optical fibre includes glass fibre and three or more coatings which seal the glass fibre, wherein said three or more coatings include a primary coating in contact with said glass fibre, one or more intermediate coatings surrounding the primary coating, and a secondary coating surrounding the intermediate coatings. The primary coating has Young's modulus of 0.025 to 3 MPa and glass transition temperature (Ts) of -100°C to -25°C, and the intermediate coating has one or both of said Young's moduli, which is substantially the same or lower than Young's modulus of the primary coating and Ts which is substantially the same or lower than the Ts of the primary coating, and the external coating of the optical fibre has a diameter of less than 300 mcm.
EFFECT: high resistance to microbending.
