FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: tank from composite materials for a storage and transportation of liquefied gases comprises a housing formed by sandwich panels, with internal heat insulating layer and two cladding layers from fibreglass, and stiffening ribs. On claddings along each edge of the heat insulating layer the deflected unidirectionally folded flanges stuck together with each other are provisioned, and the folding angle is equal to half of mating angle of adjacent panels. Between the flanges of adjacent panels the intermediate elements designed as T-shaped profiles are installed the walls of which are stuck with cladding flanges and together with them form stiffening ribs of the tank, and profile shelves are stuck with the plating of panels from the side opposite to stiffening ribs. The tank fabrication method comprises assembly and joining, for example, by sticking of sandwich panels containing heat insulating layer and cladding from fibreglass. The flanges are moulded for claddings of all panels along each edge of the heat insulating layer and adjacent flanges are stuck to each other. All intermediate elements are connected to each other, for example, by moulding-on, forming a spatial frame with meshes fitting to the panel size. One after another ready panels are mounted into frame meshes and panels are connected to the frame.

EFFECT: high manufacturability of the tank design allowing to mould it from standard pre-fabricated units.
