SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. A method of preventing reuse of digital data packets in a network data transmission system, which comprises generating useful data and metadata for each forwarded packet; generating a packet which includes useful data, metadata and integrity check data for metadata; forwarding the packet via a data transmission network; establishing the allowable mismatch time interval value; receiving the packet; checking integrity of the metadata of the received packet using the integrity check data for the metadata; checking for reuse of the received packet by performing the following procedures: if the forwarding time of the received packet goes beyond the mismatch time interval, discarding the packet; if the forwarding time of the packet is within the mismatch time interval, comparing the forwarding time of the received packet with the forwarding time of the last received packet; if the forwarding time of the received packet is greater than the forwarding time of the last received packet, replacing the forwarding time of the last received packet with the forwarding time of the received packet; replacing the number of the last received packet with the number of the received packet; entering the number of the received packet into the list of serial numbers of previously received packets and receiving the packet.

EFFECT: preventing repeated reception of packets in an established mismatch time interval.
