FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: bending assembly is designed for packages, each of which has a first longitudinal axis and comprises at least one first bendable end ridge extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis. The ridge comprises a central area and a pair of side areas located on opposite sides of the central area. The assembly comprises a conveying element which delivers the package along the forming path, and the bending means interacting with each package for bending the corresponding ridge. The bending means comprises a plurality of plates carried by the conveying element and comprising the first surfaces, and each first surface in using interacts with at least the central area of the ridge and is movable between the corresponding first position and the corresponding second position relative to the package with which it interacts to bend at as the central area of the ridge. At that the bending means comprises a plurality of cams carried by the conveying element, each of which interacts with the corresponding plate to move the corresponding first surface between the said first and second positions.
EFFECT: invention provides improvement of quality, productivity, and expanding the range of packages.
