SUBSTANCE: invention is related to automatics of electric circuits. Essence: the invention relates to monitoring of electrical networks. Substance: the device contains a fixture for determination during the phase-to-ground short circuit in the point (F) in a three-phase electrical line (30) of the current and voltage values, when the total complex conductivity neutral - ground of the electrical network outside the electrical line (30) has the first value, the fixture for determination of current and voltage values, when the total complex conductivity neutral - ground of the electrical network outside of the electrical line (30) has the second value which differs from the first value, and the fixture (40) for determination of the distance to the place of phase-to-ground short circuit in the point (F) from the point of measuring on the basis of certain current and voltage values. The fixture (40) uses four equations corresponding to the equivalent circuit for the phase-to-ground short circuit in the three-phase electrical line.
