FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: abnormal components of phase voltages and currents on both sides of the line are fixed, zero sequence components are subtracted from them, forming thereby the first voltages and currents, two-wire models of direct sequence for all phases of a power line are compiled which are used in two modes - passive and active. In the passive mode to inputs of both sides of models the first voltages are supplied, and in the active mode the inputs of both sides of models are shunted, the reactions of passive models in the form of the second input currents are determined, the third currents flowing on the shunted inputs of active models are determined by subtracting the second currents from the respective first currents, the relation of the third currents of the opposite sides of each model are determined and using the named relations the place of short circuit of the power line is determined.
EFFECT: improvement of efficiency and simplicity of the method.
