FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: balloon-borne envelope of positive buoyancy has the shape of a hollow plano-convex lens, the flat bottom of which is located horizontally and directed downwards; the envelope has a through-type central-axial channel to which a cylindrical housing with bearing supports of the shaft, which has rigid connections to the envelope frame, is installed, on the upward projecting end of which an orthogonal turbine is put, and the downward projecting end of the shaft is interconnected through a coupling with the generator; an electrical cable from the generator hangs down to a ground bay in vertical direction and coincides with the corresponding symmetry axis of the device. The same result can be enhanced by installation of solar batteries on a convex side of the balloon-type envelope, by application onto it of a heat-absorbing layer and availability of a flat bottom from heat-insulating material.
EFFECT: obtaining electric power of heavy duties from wind in high-altitude fast layers of atmosphere above intercontinental regions.
