FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, in particular, to rolling mills. Proposed process comprises rolling at rolling mill finishing section including several rolling units arranged along rolling line. Every rolling unit comprises two rolling stands with working rolls to set oval and round rolling gages. Rolling stands are designed to perform preset reduction of article cross-section area at rolling through oval or round rolling gage. Fed articles feature equal input size are rolled to finished articles of different decreased sizes by setting changed sequences of rolling. In compliance with said sequences, rolling unit is replaced by that with rolling stands designed to decrease cross-section area. The latter differs from cross-section decrease in replaced rolling stands.
EFFECT: expanded range of finished articles.
