SUBSTANCE: invention relates to distributing tasks by a computer system server. The method of distributing tasks by a computer system server includes determining the total number of free processors of the computer system available for existing tasks, which includes a plurality of processors which can be provided to perform ordinary tasks and a plurality of processors making up an emergency reserve; selecting an availability coefficient once; assigning each subsequent task in a queue a number of processors based on a condition of availability of free processors which can be provided to perform ordinary tasks, wherein the number of assigned processors is not greater than the number of currently available processors which can be provided to perform ordinary tasks, multiplied by the availability coefficient, but not less than one such processor; if there are no free processors which can be provided to perform ordinary tasks, the next tasks is assigned at least one processor from the emergency reserve.

EFFECT: high efficiency of dynamic distribution of tasks by a server on computer system processors.
