FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: seismic monitoring of development of hydrocarbon deposits on water areas includes performing three-dimensional (3D) seismic survey and constructing a reservoir model based on the survey data; predicting orientation of systems of subvertical cracks and placing fixed seismic cables at the bottom of the water area over the deposit; recording seismic traces with elastic vibrations excited by artificial sources or groups of sources, and controlling the fluid-substitution process in the hydrocarbon deposit and surrounding medium based on dynamic and kinematic changes in the detected vibrations when processing the seismic traces. Elastic vibration sources are placed in water with drilling or production platforms, as well as artificial islands. When processing seismic traces in conditions close to real time, when drilling wells or during field development, spatial migration of hydrocarbon fluids and the position of the formed man-made deposits are determined.

EFFECT: high accuracy of obtained data and high efficiency of developing hydrocarbon deposits on water areas.
