SUBSTANCE: method of monitoring the degree of adaptation includes recording and observing, through a light filter, optical radiation flux of a component of lighting equipment in two spectral ranges, in one of which spectral sensitivity of a night vision device is reduced to the visibility curve of the eye of an operator, and in the second to the average relative spectral sensitivity of the night vision device, and the adaptation coefficient is calculated using a mathematical expression. Recording and observation in two spectral ranges is performed using a photodetector with variable gain and two light filters in front of said photodetector, one of which is for the visible spectrum and the other is for simulating spectral sensitivity of the night vision device. The monitoring and testing device has a housing with an input lens, two light filters, an electro-optical converter which is a photodetector, an output eyepiece, a light filter switching mechanism, a built-in electronic unit connected to the electro-optical converter and a control device.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and reliability of measurement, broader functional capabilities.
