FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in a switched welding source. The welding source includes a power conversion circuit designed to receive power from the primary supply source, one or more semiconductor switches to interrupt power from the primary supply source and to convert the interrupted power to output welding power, a digital controller with pulse-width modulation (PWM) with valve control circuit, which generates an output PWM signal controlling switching of one or more semiconductor switches. The output PWM signal includes an operating cycle corrected with consideration of one or more sources of errors in the welding system.
EFFECT: fast response to fast events occurring in welding arc with time interval less than 1ms.
