SUBSTANCE: apparatus 10 includes an intake opening 21 configured to receive cash consisting of various currencies and capture the received cash, a plurality of outlet openings 23, 24 and 25 and a control unit configured to control a transport unit 31 capable of recognising to which of the outlet openings was cash sorted and delivered from the transport unit 31 to corresponding outlet openings 23, 24 and 25. When the currency recognised by a recognition unit 32 is not assigned any of the outlet openings 23, 24 and 25, if there is an outlet opening to which currency is not assigned, the control unit 40 is configured to perform control such that the currency is assigned to an outlet opening and the cash is transported to the assigned outlet opening.
EFFECT: processing cash of various sizes.
