SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of updating associations in a mesh network according to the IEEE 802.11s standard. A proxy information field has an identifier field with a plurality of identifiers. The identifiers preferably allow variable, i.e. transmitted information-dependent, structuring of the proxy information fields, which also provides the ability to prevent redundant information in the proxy information fields.
EFFECT: structured information transmission according to which simultaneous updating of a plurality of associations of representative nodes with proxy nodes thereof is allowed.
