FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the purpose of diagnosing thromboembolia of pulmonary artery (TEPA). An X-ray imaging of the thoracic organs is performed according to a standard treatment regimen if observing the clinical signs of TEPA in the patient; that is followed by a postprocessing treatment of the formed imaging by assessing total haziness intensity of an analysed area matched with a projection of a pulmonary segment. That is compared to a shadow intensity of a descending branch of the pulmonary artery from the right. If the analysed areas having the haziness intensity of less than 10% of the shadow intensity of the descending branch of the pulmonary artery are detected among the similar ones, thromboembolia of pulmonary artery is diagnosed.

EFFECT: technique provides high sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of TEPA diagnosing at the early stage of the disease.
