FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rapier head for the weft threads insert in the rapier machine, and to the rapier machine with such rapier head. The rapier head used to insert the weft threads in the rapier machine contains a thread clamp installed on the rapier head, the clamp has fixed clamping part and movable clamping head, at that the movable clamping part is installed with the possibility of pressing to the fixed clamping part; besides the first hollow body installed on the rapier head, the body volume increases under internal pressure of the gaseous medium, at that this first hollow body is connected with the movable clamping part such that due to volume increasing of the first hollow body the force of the clamping part is created to act on the movable clamping part; besides valve installed on the rapier head and connected with the first hollow body such that gaseous medium intake is ensured via the valve in the first hollow body. According to the invention on the rapier head there is return device connected with the movable clamping part such that return force acting due to the return device on the movable clamping part is counteracting to the force of the clamping part; and on the rapier head a second hollow body is installed; in it creation of the internal pressure of the gaseous medium if provided, at that to the second hollow body the external control force is applied, it results in volume decreasing of the second hollow body; at that valve is connected with first and second hollow bodies such that upon opened valve the gaseous medium exchange between both hollow bodies is ensured, and in case of closed valve the gaseous medium cannot leave the first hollow body; at that on the valve a closing device is installed such that closing force generated by the closing device acts oppositely to the forces opening the valve, and valve is made with possibility of its activation by contact-free transfer of signals or forces.

EFFECT: design of rapier head ensures contact-free control of the clamp for the weft thread with high reliability of the weft thread transfer at the machine middle also.
