FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy. The method involves casting of ingots by electroslag remelting with a diameter of 490×in290 mm from difficult-to-form steel grade 16×12MMVSFBR-Sh (EP823-Sh), their turning to hollow cakes with the size of 480×in300×3000 mm, the length of which is determined as per mathematical relationship. Cakes are heated to the ductility temperature and rolled on pilger mills using backing carbon rings into tubes with the size of 338×25×11800 mm with drawing µn=4.35, by swaging as to diameter Δ=29.2%. Stock tubes are straightened in a six-roll mill, cut into two tubes, bored and turned along the route into stock tubes with dimension of 194×2.5×13800 mm and 194×2.5×14000 mm and shaped in Mill 400 into hexagonal tubes with flat-to-flat dimension of 175±0.4×2.5+0.3/-0.2×13800 mm and 175±0.4×2.5+0.3/-0.2×14000 mm. End crops are removed and tubes are cut into hexagonal tubes of specific length.
EFFECT: reduction of a metal consumption coefficient.
