FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of the field of initiation means, namely the percussion charges which can be used in cap primers of cartridges of small arms. The percussion charge (PC) comprises in wt %: tetrazene 40-60, quartz sand 10-25, as the oxidant - potassium nitrate, sodium nitrite, chlorate or potassium perchlorate 10-25, as fuel - zirconium, magnesium, titanium, boron, aluminum or antimonous sulphide 8-15. Additionally, the composition may comprise a binder in an amount of 0.01-1 wt % excess of 100%, and a secondary explosive in an amount not exceeding 5 wt % by weight of the total composition. During the combustion of the composition no environmentally harmful components are formed, which enables to use the cartridges in confined spaces, such as shooting galleries, without harmful impact on the human body.

EFFECT: invention is directed at creation of an environmentally safely percussion charge not containing heavy metal salts and providing reliable performance of cap primers with the content of the PC of not less than 25 mg.
