FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: preliminary trimming of end of the pipe billet is made from side of the made flange by angle equal to angle of its inclination, with elliptical cross-section creation, its installation in matrix with channel at some angle to its axis, the trimmed pipe billet is installed in the inclined channel matching the untrimmed round end of the pipe billet with bottom of the inclined channel, and is locked relatively to the later, flanging is performed during the matrix rotation relatively to its axis of symmetry by the radially moving pressing tool. The method is implemented using the device containing matrix with channel inclined relatively to its axis for the pipe billet and insert installation. At that the matrix is made in form of the cylindrical mandrel, and inclined channel is arranged such that its axis of symmetry when crossing the mandrel axis of symmetry forms angle equal to angle of inclination of the manufactured flange, and its center of symmetry. The insert has shape equidistant with the pipe billet, and is made from side of the open end with the diametrical slot created at part of the insert length, and with conical groove which axis matches with axis of symmetry of the cylindrical mandrel.

EFFECT: higher accuracy and reliability of manufactured part.
