SUBSTANCE: hard-alloy insert comprises a cylindrical liner and a working head with an end face with the semi-toroid shape. The internal surface of the working head has wedge-shaped ledges located at sharp angle to the diametrical plane of the working head. Apexes of wedge-shaped projections in a cross section have a rounded shape.
EFFECT: improvement of overall performance of rock cutting insert.
