FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: method to produce an asphalt concrete mix includes fractionating of crushed stone or gravel, dosing of the latter and sand with subsequent supply into a drying drum, heating there up to working temperature and supply into a forced mixer, where granulated asphalt-binding substance is also added, and these components are mixed there to produce the asphalt-concrete mix, at the same time the asphalt-binding substance is added into the mixer in the form of granules with size from 3 to 7 mm, which in their turn are made of a mixture of bitumen, modified sulphur and mineral powder with content of modified sulphur from 10 to 30% of bitumen weight and mineral powder from 150 to 250% of weight of sulphur-bitumen binding substance, previously produced by means of mixing in a mixer of bitumen at temperature of around 150°C with granulated modified sulphur, which is melted in bitumen, or liquid modified sulphur, after which sulphur-bitumen binding substance is sent via a hydrodynamic cavitator or treated with ultrasound and supplied to another forced mixer, where they also add mineral powder, the produced mixture is granulated and powdered with the mineral powder, and then granules are cooled and packed into bags.

EFFECT: reduced costs of bitumen under high parameters of strength, water resistance and durability of an asphalt concrete mix.
