SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems and/or methods which enable distributed data storage. The technical result is achieved due to a distributed file system which can be realised on storage units such that the system places multiple data copies on multiple different storage units in order to ensure data accessibility and minimise data loss. The storage units are dynamically evaluated to identify corresponding characteristics. The characteristics include storage unit accessibility, storage unit size, data storage costs associated with a storage unit, data transmission costs associated with a storage unit, storage unit location, network topology or user preferences associated with a storage unit.
EFFECT: high reliability of distributed data storage.
