FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydraulic transmissions. A hydraulic transmission includes two oil pumps driven from an engine. At operation of a hydraulic transformer, two oil pumps operate in parallel, thus providing the required oil pressure in the hydraulic transformer and oil flow rate through a heat exchanger. When the hydraulic transformer is in a locking mode, one oil pump is connected to a hydraulic tank for reduction of power losses. A hydraulic retarder is actuated by a pneumatic valve. The hydraulic transformer is changed over to the locking mode. A value of a braking torque of the hydraulic retarder is controlled with an on/off electric switch controlled with a carrier. When a maximum braking torque mode is chosen, oil is supplied to the hydraulic retarder from two oil pumps, and at partial braking torque of the hydraulic retarder one oil pump is switched off, thus power losses are reduced.
EFFECT: improvement of reliability of the device.
