SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation shielding elastomeric material, containing an elastomer, in which the powder of metal oxides is dispersed, as well as to the application of the said elastomeric material in the production of a product for individual protection against ionizing radiation, in particular, the invention relates to a glove for protection against ionising radiation, emitted by powder-like nuclear fuel. The invention can be used in the nuclear industry when working with the powder-like nuclear fuel, as well as in the process of processing medical images, in surgical radiology, in nuclear medicine, in the process of processing plastics, examination and control of finished products. The powder of metal oxides contains from 70 to 90 wt % of bismuth trioxide, from 5 to 15 wt % of tungsten trioxide and from 5 to 15 wt % of lanthanum trioxide. At least one layer in the glove consists of the said elastomeric material.
EFFECT: provision of a material, impermeable for radioactive radiation and possessing high elasticity.
