SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to computer engineering and can be used to process interruptions in a computing environment. Described is conversion of one or more requests initiated by interruption messages from one or more input/output adapters into an input/output adapter-generated event notification. Each notification includes a set of one or more specific indicators in system memory and an interruption request, wherein the first of the indicators is an indicator of a pending adapter interruption request. While an adapter interruption request is pending, subsequent requests initiated by interruption messages are converted into notifications, but without generating additional adapter interruption requests.
EFFECT: facilitating interruption request control.
