SUBSTANCE: according to the method to a power transmission line a transformer (T) is connected with in-series connection of its primary winding and a bank of capacitors (BC) connected in parallel to its secondary winding, and a controlled switch (CS). In operating mode CS is closed thus short-circuiting BC and secondary T winding. In emergency mode CS is open thus ensuring resonance of currents in the circuit formed by parallel connection of idle inductive reactance of T with in-series connection of short-circuiting inductive reactance of T and BC capacitance. In the device T is made of a magnetic core (M) and a section of coaxial cable (CC) and inner core connected to a section of the power transmission line and with conductive shell that surrounds the inner core. CC is wound on M and the conductive shell is divided at least by two circular slots and connected in parallel to BC and CS.
EFFECT: improving efficiency of current limitation and stabilisation of the network voltage; the device has a simplified design and small dimensions and weight.
