FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hardening of steel surfaces. Steel rolled balls are loaded into ball drum mill to be revolved. Note here that balls are loaded into said drum mill with loading factor of 40-45% of the drum inner volume. Mill drum is revolved at rpm that ensures the ball motion in parabolic path at the instant of shock against the lining plate and makes Vd=(0.86-0.87)Vd.Crit, where Vd.Crit is drum rpm corresponding to ball path changeover from parabola to circle. Bombardment by balls of lining plates is executed for 10 minutes.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance of lining plates.
