FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electron beam welding under effects of magnetic fields induced in welding article. Proposed device comprises electron beam gun, focusing system, deflectors, generator to scan electron beam across and along the butt, unit to guide electron beam to said butt, electron gun electric drive, compensating magnetic field source and X-ray transducer with flat-field collimator. The latter is fitted at said gun so that projection of collimating slot on article surface is aligned with gun optical axis and located parallel with the weld butt. Besides, this device comprises appropriate processors of X-ray transducer signals. Said transducer controls said compensating magnetic field source composed of, for example, electromagnet or two current sources including lead-ins arranged above and under the article in symmetry about the weld in the area of its maximum temperature.
EFFECT: compensation for induced magnetic fields, higher precision of alignment of the weld and article butt.
