FIELD: welding; mechanical engineering; control and stabilization of depth of penetration at welding without through penetration. SUBSTANCE: in proposed method of electron-beam welding intensity of X- radiation from root of weld is measured and depth of penetration is corrected by control signal. In addition, focusing system current is modulated and intensity of spectrum components of penetration X-radiation with frequencies multiple of modulation frequencies is measured and depth of penetration is determined by their level. EFFECT: improved quality of welding owing to increased accuracy of stabilization of penetration depth. 6 dwg
