FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to production railway, crane and mine wheels. Workpiece upset, it is spread by spherical male die. Then, forging is performed at twisting by rotary tool. Note here that hub one half shaped to spherical shell is formed by upsetting in the die, shell centre being provided with mark for bore piercing. At bore piercing, hub is formed finally by flanging of its half shaped to spherical shell formed at previous step.
EFFECT: lower forging forces and stresses at tool, metal saving.
