FIELD: physics, alarm systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention is used for detection of hazardous hidden substances. The essence of the invention consists in that the device for detection of hazardous hidden substances is designed as two modules - examination and control module, connected by Ethernet and power cables, meanwhile the examination module contains several sources of tracer monochromatic neutrons and their respective monochromatic α-particles with detectors of α-particles and several γ-radiation detectors, and designed as a post for examination of vehicles including the site for arrangement of the vehicle and an inspection pit below, where the sources of tracer monochromatic neutrons and their respective monochromatic α-particles are located with α-particle detectors contained in evacuated chambers and designed with a possibility of irradiation of particular field of the vehicle along the whole its width in a single measurement, and also protection of γ-radiation detectors from a flow of monochromatic neutrons; γ-radiation detectors are located from both sides of the site with a possibility of their move both in vertical with reference to the vehicle, and in a horizontal direction, moving to or from the vehicle; the inspection module is fitted with the device of maintaining the certain ranges of air temperature and humidity in the examination pit.

EFFECT: shortening time of examination of vehicles, improvement of reliability of detection of hazardous hidden substances, avoidance of hand operation of operator at examination of the vehicle, and also avoidance of involvement of the driver for moving the vehicle with reference to the sources of monochromatic neutrons, improvement of radiation safety during examination and additional provision of usage of the unit in wide ranges of operating temperatures and humidity.
