METHOD OF CONTROLLING EXTERNAL DEVICES USING BRAIN-MACHINE INTERFACE TECHNOLOGY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC G06F3/01 G06N3/02 G06G7/60

Abstract RU 2550545 C2

FIELD: physics, computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information technology and neurophysiology. The disclosed method of controlling external devices using brain-machine interface technology includes recording activity data of different parts of the brain using, both separately and collectively, any of electroencephalography, magnetic-resonance imaging and transcranial oximetry techniques, and processing the obtained signal based on formulae known for each type of brain-machine interface, wherein the method includes preliminary training of a classifier with respect to user-solved tasks, such that each possible user reaction is assigned certain posterior probabilities which reflect the individual nature of user preferences and which can be revised during operation of the device; wherein the weights of an instruction classifier are varied such that fewer iterations for the process of receiving instructions are required for more frequent cases and vice versa.

EFFECT: faster operation of brain-machine interface technologies.
