FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: application: in the sphere of electric engineering in order to protect radio electronic equipment from surge overvoltage. Device includes the following: a varistor, current sensor, two voltage sensors, a microcontroller, an output register, a capacitor, a resistor and an element absorbing surge energy, and for the purpose of expansion of application scope the following elements are added to the device: an arrestor, a semiconductive protective device - surge suppressor, three disconnectors, two inductance coils, two auxiliary current sensors, three diodes. Inputs of the overvoltage protection devices are connected to the protected facility through switching device - disconnectors, while its outputs are connected to input of the element absorbing surge energy through current sensors and diodes.
EFFECT: draining large surge currents and limiting surge overvoltage.
