FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing thermoplastic polymer material, a method of processing polylactic acid, wherein polymer material is heated in a receiving tank while mixing continuously at a temperature below the melting point of the polymer material, wherein the polymer material is mixed and heated using a mixing or grinding apparatus rotating around a vertical axis. The polymer material from polylactic acid is heated to temperature ranging from 65 to 120°C and, if present in the form of thin film, fibres or nonwoven material, mixed at with rotary speed of the outermost mixing end of the mixing or grinding apparatus of 15 to 58 m/s, held in the reactor for an average of 3 to 60 min and treated at ambient pressure, and if the polymer material is present in the form of plates obtained by crushing containers or granulates, the material is mixed at rotary speed of the outermost mixing end of the mixing or grinding apparatus of 1 to 35 m/s, held in the reactor for an average of 10 to 100 min and treated in a vacuum of ≤150 mbar.

EFFECT: invention enables to process polylactic wastes in a gentle mode, as well as processing polylactide plastic mass which is highly contaminated, infected or containing a large number of inscriptions, preventing negative impact on mechanical properties and capacity for fusion.
