FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space navigation and can be used for on-lime determination of direction to the Sun. In compliance with this process, optical-interference system it used to get the image of a glowing ring with centre aligned with direction to the Sun from the central point of said system. Ring images are projected to matrix photo receiver. Sun angular position is defined from the position of ring projected image centre at said photo receiver. Proposed device comprises spherical optical interference system including thin hemispherical meniscus lens with interference light filter applied on its convex surface, radiation of diffuser at meniscus lens concaved surface and cutoff light filter. Besides, this device includes objective lens, matrix photo reliever and control, processing and calculation unit.
EFFECT: higher accuracy.
