FIELD: transport engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the control of work characteristics of the ignition system, and is intended to exclude risk of undesirable spark generation. In particular the invention describes the ignition control system containing charging coil (L1) to charge the ignition system, primary coil (L4) and secondary coil (L5) intended for voltage generation and for ignition spark creation, and control unit (M1). The method includes (a) assurance of presence of individual coil (L3) installed near at least one of coils including the charge coil (L1), primary coil (L4) and secondary coil (L5), (b) use of the control unit (M1) to control the magnetic flux in the individual coil (L3), and (c) use of information of the specified magnetic flux as input data to control at least one work parameter of the ignition system.

EFFECT: exclusion of risk of undesirable spark generation.
