SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process control systems. An assembly (12) of a modular intrinsically safe power supply unit includes a rigid adapter (22) for a cable conduit configured for installation on the cable conduit of a field device (10). A housing (66), having an internal part, operably connected to the rigid adapter (22) for the cable conduit and physically supported by the rigid adapter (22) for the cable conduit. At least one non-rechargeable battery (64, 164) is placed in the housing (66). An intrinsically safe circuit (500) is connected with the at least one non-rechargeable battery (64, 164) and with a connector which is connected to a common connector (62) in the rigid adapter (22) for the cable conduit.
EFFECT: improved safety and vibration resistance of the device.
